Such a fun book! I'm from a big family and reading this book made me wistful for the days when we were all together growing up. When a book can take you on journey to happier days, I say read it! Best book I've read this year!
The Mystery of the Last Cannoli is a hilarious, warm-hearted family drama that will grip you from the very first pages. It is "deliciously" entertaining with its Sister Mob--an absolute triumph of characterization--enlisted as amateur sleuths to help their youngest sister solve the mystery of the local tough blackmailing their father. The uproarious comedy of errors that ensue will keep you on the edge of your seat while laughing out loud. At its core, it's a beautiful read about family love and loyalty and the lengths we go to protect the people we love. Don't miss this one!
Being of Sicilian heritage, I more than just enjoyed the book, I loved it...it brought back so many fond memories of my own Sicilian family - from grandparents, to aunts and uncles and cousins. I recommend it highly to those who had the good fortune to be raised in a close knit Sicilian family.
